@evan I picked heart. It is the closest to what I actually believe, which is the center of the gut just a few centimeters below the navel, inside the body. Some theories believe the thinking part ("the brain") of the nervous system is mostly interpreting and telling a story about the behavior we decide on a more intutive level (gut feeling). Michael Gazzaniga's study of the interpreter function is famous for this.

@evan a good reminder that all of these are transient to a degree. Although I'm happy with my instance, I chose city, interpreting it as hometown or region more than where I currently live. Unlike the others, it will always shape me as a person, even if it lets me down.But none of the choices are top ten.

@openrisk Signal is a good example. They've mostly managed to pivot from the big one-time donation from the WhatsApp founder and licensing deals with Big Tech for the Signal protocol trademark to user donations, which now make up the majority of their income. Not enough to cover costs, but a good place to be. I think one question is when they diversify what they offer.
