I was a classicist in a previous life, now I just do Greek & Latin for fun. Always happy to make an attempt at translating stuff into either.

nugati/iocati sunt, poenas dederunt/luerunt
("they joked/fooled around, they paid the penalty")

Not very vulgar but yeah. The spirit of it at least.
