Most men who call themselves software engineers don't actually follow the principles of engineering the way Margaret Hamilton did.

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.A trans woman also invented webkit, one of the first modern browser engines.
Fedi's own @lisamelton

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code. One last thing:
Trans women programmers are in fact women programmers. Trans women face many barriers simply for being who they are. Trans women have been kicked out of their careers, treated with disrespect, and been harassed for being trans women. And it's getting worse, not better.
And, as for the achievement bit: A trans woman invented VLSI, a trans woman invented ARM 32 bit assembly language, and trans women maintain many of the FOSS softwares you use today (including Asahi Linux and the VC4 Mesa driver, amongst other things)
And a trans woman wrote the post you are reading right now.

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.@lindasgoluppiart it was some idiot on YouTube

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.@kellyosullivan me too!

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.@chojzina converting each instruction one by one, and then calculating offsets for branches.
-
I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.@chojzina assembly code is a programming language where you directly write in CPU instructions. It's like a slightly less terrible version of machine language.
I have subjected myself to writing TI 84 code in hexadecimal with a Z80 reference chart I printed from the internet, and trust me, assembly is way easier.
I wrote the machine code by first writing assembly and putting in the bytes by hand.

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code. Here's some assembly I wrote, in an assembly language THAT WAS INVENTED BY A WOMAN
@ rem - calculate remainder through repeated subtractions
@ arguments:
@ R0 - Number we are going to divide
@ R1 - Number we are diving by
@ only changes the value of R0
rem:
CMP R0, R1 @ compare the remainder and the divisor
BLT end @ if the remainder is less than divisor, stop loop
SUB R0, R0, R1 @ subtract divisor from remainder
B rem @ loop back to the initial comparison
end:
BX LR @ return divisor -
I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code. The woman who coded the Apollo Guidance Computer is Margaret H. Hamilton.
She is still alive today.

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code. All the women who are smart enough to disprove misogyny are, in one way or another, stripped of their femininity by others

I just saw someone actually say that women cannot write assembly code.I write assembly code, and I'm a woman

A woman wrote the assembly code that got humanity onto the moon. Be grateful

neoliberal competitive individualism breeds indifference@aptronym I am a southerner, for good or ill
-
neoliberal competitive individualism breeds indifference"All southerners are fascist" is a counterrevolutionary troupe perpetuated by the elite. It conceals the truth of southern resistance to Jim Crow and monopoly finance capital. It is more an aspiration of the bourgeois than it is a reality.
Not to mention how many southerners are themselves oppressed people.

This post did not contain any content.@VeroniqueB99 the fascists only think in money and land.
The more money and land they can steal the less they care about the consequences
