RE: https://social.growyourown.services/@FediTips/115907813290485171@thomasfuchs @FediTips for sure, and I absolutely recognise that mastodon has caused harms to people. But also I think there is space to talk about {the harms a community of users on a platform are causing} and {the harms the owners and developers of a platform are causing}, and talking about where and when those may not be equivalent and where the power is. I am nervous about where the power is in Bluesky, and am concerned it will ultimately, as it did on twitter, cause problems for those communities who have found a home there. Every time Bluesky has done something like this, people have shouted, and as far as I’ve seen, the slide has continued. Do you anticipate it changing?

RE: https://social.growyourown.services/@FediTips/115907813290485171@thomasfuchs @FediTips it is regrettable an ethical source license hasn’t yet become a thing, but otherwise there is pretty much no value in this comparison. Actively participating in a business that caters to the fash is not the same as the fash choosing to pick the free and open source technology you use off of the shelf (though admittedly I’m not very up to date on the state of bluesky’s federation situation, but last I understood it was laughable). If Mastodon the org start filing feature requests for truth social though, I’d certainly like to hear
