@Natasha_Jay Really amusing. I can experience the same with Italian, since it forked off from ancient Latin, and it has remained incomprehensible in the tens of dialects spoken today, unless you're a native speaker of one of them, that is.

@reading_recluse I do agree, but I'd like to add something. After all, the manipulative scheme on users isn't much different from what has happened in the last twentysomething years. The companies behind it are still the same ones, almost all of them were born less than three decades ago.

LLMs have just refined the decoy, polished the deceptive honey-pot.

@markhurst My totally unfounded opinion is that any tentative to enrich didactics with totally new "special effects", "added interaction", etc., has had the finally effect of disrupting *attention*.
They've lost the basic attention that's needed to follow a (boring) old book, because they've found the /entertaining/ part of the process more interesting.
Who writes educational texts should follow a good course on psychology of communication.
