  • Look, I'm glad we're having a conversation about the hypocrisy of the legal logic used by America's gun nuts.

The only reason there even is some discussion among conservatives is because Mr. Pretti was white.
I ventured into a conservative forum and it was a mixture of "His own fault / shouldn't have been there" and "Hey, what about his 2A rights? I'm not ok with this".
(Not claiming this one forum is representative).

No, I don't hang out with AfD types, why would I?

My impression was that AfD was not concentrating on christianity the way MAGA does, but maybe I missed something? I'm sure I've got Germans in my timeline, maybe they can elaborate?

The AfD is full of neonazis, I don't think that christianity plays a big role there? Germany is more secular than the USA.

We had fascism here in Europe, rather famously, 80 years ago, so you'd think people would be aware!

And yet we have white people here on the fediverse who say stuff like "Racism is so horrible in the USA, I'm glad we don't have that here in Europe" and who are willfully ignoring all the racist incidents in Europe, because they see each of these countless incidents as an individual, unfortunate outlier.

The very same people agree when someone says that racism in the USA is a structural problem.
