Ok, now i feel like an idiot. It wasn't until you said that that I made the connection between "kindle" and it's meaning of setting things on fire. Until now it was always just a random word choice.

But now, and especially with the "fire stick"… I'm with you, it's a very fucked up choice for a company named after a rainforest.

@yonder @futurebird Yeah, the only real problem with Mechanical Turk was how little working turk jobs paid anyone. Like low enough that even workers in 3rd world countries wouldn't find it worth their time unless they were desperate.

@BigD @nomenloony it is really just highly advanced autocomplete. It’s not that the data it’s trained in is right or wrong. It’s that the sequence of words is statistically likely to follow the input you provided. That’s it. It’s just vector math determining likely next words in a sequence
