The remarks from the expert in this article, even as critical as they are, grossly understate just how foolish and messed up this is. -

And the same dudes will wonder, "Why aren't women interested?"not corrected nor led by a man, if that is a woman's choice? sure sounds like win/win to me.

Watching Fedi and the world react to the US president go absolutely unhinged in public, threatening war crimes as his cognitive grip disintegrates before our eyes, watching the horror and the outrage…there is something I want to tell you from Minneapolis.one of the truly amazing things about human beings is that while there are definitely ordinary folks capable of horrific acts or collaborations, there are ordinary folks capable of true selflessness, love, and heroism. enough folks choosing to do right can move mountains.

They pay $34 for burgers.@realtegan @blainecross @mekkaokereke
it's one of the cheapest and most humane ways to raise graduation rates & test scores, lower absenteeism.
if someone is all bent about "someone taking advantage of free school meals", that tells me more about that person than about problems with the program.

They pay $34 for burgers.all sorts of services. education, food programs, health, public transportation, postal services.
they are public goods. they don't need to "make a profit". any decently run program won't have enough fraud to make it worth charging money and tracking the use. what they will save in costs and result in overall improvement in quality of life for all will more than make them worth it.
problem is, as soon as you say anything like that (or universal health care, UBI, etc.) there are screams of "that's communism" (no it isn't) or "socialism" (not exactly). capitalism (which we don't really have either) is a sacred cow. no one dares to criticize capitalism.
sigh...

I was today years old when I found out LinkedIn has a chronological timeline mode*, and why LinkedIn recommends against enabling it in the settings.it's available in the US (choose time order rather than "recommended"). you can also choose to not see political posts.
it's still the cesspool that is linkedin but is a shallower, easier to wade through cesspool.

I often joke that Brittany is the most left-wing region in France - and has the highest number of cafés and bars per capita... but perhaps the two aspects are more closely linked than I thought.it's a lot harder to treat other people as truly "other" if you hang out with them, go to school with them, have drinks at a cafe or pub with them. that process of dehumanizing and designating as "other" is a key part of fascism/racism/hate.

There's this myth that automated spam detection is hard because spammers are all very clever masters of disguise.that and that the big boys, like google and outlook, who like to think they are too big to block, are huge sources of spam and refuse to clean up their own customer bases. they make money on spammers, not legit users bombarded with spam.

If SQL is pronounced "sequel" then surely DNS is pronounced "Dennis"?personally, i've always pronounced SQL as "squeal", since that's usually my reaction when i have to deal with it.
DNS could be "dins". with small TTLs, it's really really noisy.
