We got home a while back but only now getting around to eating our daifuku 
The big strawberry daifuku was so juicy... all of the liquid I lost from sweating today, I regained by eating this. Sometimes it's not on sale when we go so it's always lucky when we can get the Big Strawberry
The cinnamon apple is basically nama yatsuhashi lol. If you know what that's like, that's this, but bigger and with apple chunks
Currently at a pitstop somewhere in Hakone (or possibly Yugawara) and resting after coming down the winding mountain path
This HUGE. HUGE!!! dragonfly came in and started pinging off of stuff. It was like something from the time of the dinosaurs, just way too big, like a bird that got in. The customers all gave it space because there are some bugs that you just gotta Respect
It made it back out okay and back into the mountain forest. Good luck out there
We totally missed our local shrine's festival this year (it's kind of a big one, with omikoshi and processional and everything lmfao) so to make up for it, we're going to another prefecture and participating in their summer event thing LOL

Having The Serious Talk and decided that maybe we shouldn't drive all the way back to Numazu tomorrow just for (checks notes) a glow-in-the-dark eraser and Himonora card 
Being a rational adult sucks LOL

Also found a parking spot in the shade, time for a quick nap before heading home
Tomorrow's plan: leave early, get one more bookmark from an omiyage shop we missed, and turn in for prizes BEFORE 3PM!!

Tragedy... the shop to turn in our bookmarks for prizes closes at 3pm, and we arrived at 4pm

We made it to the stationery shop, and I bought a fan and a shitagaki (pencil board? plastic thing to put behind my notebook paper as I write so it doesn't go through to the next sheet) for my notebook. Not exciting stuff but this does at least let us get bookmarks
Getting some ice coffee from McDonald's (and maybe a discreet nap lol) before going back to fish market
Technically we have fulfilled the requirements of getting five bookmarks but I wanna go to the other side of the station and get one more from a stationery shop 
Then it's back to the fish markets to pick up our prize and omiyage, drive to Ichigo Plaza and then home!!
Made it to River Books. We found out that there was a display for RIOT in June, and that the mangaka Tsukada Yūta had stopped by for autographs..... we missed it..... noooooo
Oh well. We got:
- Nihon Genjū Zusetsu (Encyclopedia of Mythological Japanese Creatures)
- the zine How to Book in Japan
- RIOT sticker
- bookmarks of the Himonora dressed to look exactly like the shopkeeper lmao
Wish we lived closer so we could come here more often...
Walked through Nakamise shopping center and headed to River Books. It was very hot but lots of shade on the way which was nice

The seats for Fujisawa were already taken so we sat at Hakone and waited for our Neapolitan ice cream to arrive... this was too funny... we were actually just planning to grab the bookmarks and head to the next place, but would YOU pass up the chance to have dessert that came floating down the river?!
Oh my god... this cafe has a little "river" with floating baskets with customer orders, and each seat is a stop on the Tōkaidō, I fucking love this so much
Leaving the fish market area for now, gonna come back later to turn in our bookmarks and get final omiyage. TTFN
