@ariarhythmic I mean “creating freely” more from a creators perspective, if people are paying or supporting your work on a platform like Patreon they are paying you for your artistic style/ content. On a platform that is free like youtube or instagram you are often forced to jump on trends or post for the sake of posting to keep feeding the algorithms. This is my personal experience as a creative person but I’m sure there are different experiences out there.

@Trenton_Hoshiko I think there’s also so much content out there for free that people just don’t value it the same! I feel like social media has incentivised creatives, creators to post work for free (to stand out) or take on brand sponsors as a way to make an income but I don’t think many people understand what they give up in return when they’re consuming for free! Much better to pay your favourite creator and support them directly so they can keep creating freely!
