@vkc Thanks for speaking openly about this, Veronica. I cannot fully understand your situation, but I can relate to being harassed in an invisible way and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else. I wouldn't want to see you leave Fedi, but I also wouldn't blame you if you did.

I'm talking about all of the misogyny crap today because folks keep speaking for me and saying I'm one of Fedi's big boosters. -
I finished the book Enshittification by @pluralistic!I finished the book Enshittification by @pluralistic! Highly recommended, an enjoyable read regardless if you're already familiar with the concepts discussed or if you're new to these ideas.
I adore that a large portions of the book are dedicated to what we, both as a larger society and as individuals can do about enshittification. Cory Doctorrow has done a couple talks lately where he explicitly talks about the differences between hope and optimism, and why he's hopeful for the future. His writing style clearly reflects that stance, even though that stance is only ever implied in this book. It's a breath of fresh air!
Also, I appreciated that the book challenged me on my negative feelings toward enshittification being used as a term to simply mean "something getting worse." The last piece at the end of the acknowledgements changed my mind on that, and I appreciate that the creator of the word is chill with the word being used that way.

Folks!@votetanille The option that I've always preferred is the progressive web app! This is (in my opinion) a very underrated feature of most web browsers that lets you add websites to your home screen without needing to install the entire app. It saves disk space and is generally more secure than a normal app. Here's a guide on how to set it up on Google Chrome, but the process is similar on other browsers too: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/9658361
If it doesn't work, or it's not for you, I also like Tusky for Android https://tusky.app/. I've heard good things about Ivory on IOS, but haven't tried it myself.
