On the lockscreen.

How. How do people live like this? Like seriously. Inundated by ads. I mean, not just the tracking and surveillance behind it... but blatant ads everywhere.

They PAY microsoft to show them ads on their lockscreen.

Remember adware? That would gum up your browsers in the early aughts? Like... that was considered malware at the time and removed by antivirus.

Can you turn this off? Is this a third party widget or something?

There's a lot of people in my timeline boosting and posting misinformation (and disinformation).

(eg that McAfee *unwittingly* posted an AI image of a woman with three hands - even though that was the *point* of the ad campaign... selling AI detection.

or that Madonna has rejected a $500 million dollar deal from Elon Musk)

Everyone can fall for misinfo. If you read a claim - ESPECIALLY IF YOU AGREE WITH IT OR GET JOY FROM IT - please verify it before you post or boost it.

Posting this as a personal reminder. I make mistakes too and have accidentally boosted false info in the past. Bonus points for anyone who sends this post back to me in the future when I make that mistake again

So I've been going back through my DVD collection and digitizing backups of my already paid for DVD collection...

...but I need an app that can host my digitized versions of my personal DVD collection to view on my phone or TV.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a media server that has an app that I can LOCALLY STORE my PERSONAL DIGITIZED MOVIES and serve on my LOCAL TV or phone?
