@tinker @bsidesnova I seem to remember I managed to turn that shit off on my work PC when I got it - and then it came back after an update, because of fucking course it did, & I just left it. It's just a work PC after all. How anyone chooses to live with this shit for their personal computer use I shall never know. Had I not started out on Mac at home I would almost certainly have made the Linux jump many years ago.

I think quote toots would do what you're asking?I think you can edit your quote-toot and the edit would trigger a notification for everyone who boosted your quote-toot.(Having said that, still need to see how quoting works in the final release version though, it's still in final testing.)However, that might be worse because you'd still be showing the boost and not everyone notices the quote section. Also boosts help posts rise up the trending section.
