@da_667 I guess if you spend long enough with the hell machine that uses words but does not know that words have meanings, you lose the knowledge yourself that words have meanings.

@boplaid @davidgerard the counter-proposal being a tired re-hashing of the "ethical, legal, and environmental issues aside" talking points is a perfect distillation of the problem. The plagiarism machine is fundamentally incapable of ever producing anything original, and those who delegate their production to the machine quickly discover they can no longer produce anything original, either.

@GossiTheDog once the bubble bursts, it'll be cheaper to buy Stephen King quantities of cocaine and do it the old fashioned way, than to burn tokens begging the plagiarism machine.

@hacks4pancakes I have a terrible premonition that things are going to get a lot, lot worse before they get better. The need to apply for so many roles to even get one interview means that it's tough to sit there and customise your resume and cover letter over and over and over, when there's a machine Right There that self-proclaimed "experts" giving bad advice claim is the solution to all your problems. That makes it easier to apply for roles, so every role gets more applicants, so it's harder to stand out and get an interview, so everyone is sending out even more applications... it's a very vicious cycle.
