I think the so-called "Google Play Integrity API" is googles move to circumvent the DMA (EU Digigal Markets Act). Google simply tries to make key app developers, eg banks, public app providers, payment services, force users to have google play installed, where the DMA requires them to provide freedom og choice of app store.
