In designing my own #cloud services I quickly came to a simple yet powerful conclusion: if you model the infrastructure around personal freedom and digital sovereignty you don’t even need ID verification. You cryptographically own your identity, period.

Why are you aggressive? If the scanning is offline (proven by audits), and the app provides just the signal of you being an adult, nothing more, I see no reason not to use it. That's the only way this can be implemented while maintaining privacy.
