Sure, RiseUp is very good, and much more trustworthy¹ than Proton.
They're not playing in the same category.
But Riseup is invitation-only, and from what I've been told, they don't provide new tokens (to invite people) anymore.
It's not a general-purpose resource like Proton is, but a (very useful) service dedicated for militants.

¹note though that their privacy canary is dead; I understand why they don't put a new one on, but it's still a problem

@alice @slothrop Yeah, unfortunately they had some bullshit around vocally supporting Trump and the christofascist GOP early last year. They got butthurt for getting called out on it and decided to "refocus [their] social media efforts" which meant slumbering their fediverse account.

I canceled my Proton Founder's subscription and moved over to @fastmail specifically because they supported more private domains. I've been very happy with the service.

The other recommendation I always see floating around is @Tutanota but they only documented 10 private domains when I was looking
