Friend of mine, who is with us against this law, brought up the larger-scope issue of tools fit for crime - I told him I believe the problem is designing tech/services for enforcement.

Friend of mine, who is with us against this law, brought up the larger-scope issue of tools fit for crime - I told him I believe the problem is designing tech/services for enforcement. No other known tech was designed so that the cops could get in if they want to; enforcement has to deal with the reality of envelopes & locked doors. The precedent set by building in access will have unimaginably harmful consequences.
