No, there's no such thing as a good use case for LLM assistants in search. It's literally putting a deliberate, unfixable inaccuracy layer in between the user & their goal.
In conclusion, this can fuck all the way off.
(FTR I'm using StartPage, which so far (!) does not seem to involve #AI bullshit

) @jwcph I use Qwant. They don't have LLM crap, is a French site, and they are working on a pure European search engine and crawler.
That being said, they do have an LLM, but it is completely opt-in and on a separate site. And they've assured me that it will stay like that. -
