I’m in the process of migrating away from GMail to Proton. All is going well this far, but am wondering:
Is there any sense in deleting all my emails from the GMail account? Will the data actually be removed, or will a copy be sitting on a Google server "for internal use and AI training only”?
I WILL delete if I trust the info to be gone, but otherwise, I’ll just be removing a backup of my email archive. Thankful for any insights you may have around this.
"Trust. Who do ya?” as the Prince track goes...

@airwhale I asked myself the same question when I replaced Gmail with StartMail a little over a year ago & this is my logic: To Google, data is what Oil is to Chevron - do I believe that Chevron would voluntarily step back from even a single ounce of crude for any reason...?
(I have not deleted everything from Google's servers, though at some point I probably will)
