@FediTips if it requires someone to write up a "tip", perhaps that highlights a ui issue? modern day search is bad enough as it is, without having to search for tips on how to search 🤪

Huh. It would be nice if there was a way to search posts that would have been included in a list — like in:library, but differently scoped. Maybe someday -

But the new Collections feature is a bit closer to a public list, and it is/will be searchable if it's set to be public by its creator.

If you're using the web interface these operators are visible when you click on the search box, but I don't know how many people notice them!
Apps may have various ways of presenting these options.

Ah, no, I mean sort of the opposite — let me do a global search for messages, but only show me the ones from people on this list — or, in practice, search every message I can see from the people on this list for matches. -

That might be a way to choose results for particular accounts, though of course it's not as convenient as just choosing a list. More info at https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-search-for-stuff-on-mastodon
You can also use - (minus sign) before an operator to remove its results.

Right — so expanding from to take a list; possibly this could even be done at the client level -
@FediTips
Right — so expanding from to take a list; possibly this could even be done at the client levelYeah, it probably could be made easier by the apps as the operators are part of the official API.
