If you want to change something, protest in front of government buildings and meta headquarters. Dont haras employees. Focus on people who make decisions.

@grayrattus @sibrosan @Roelmaalderink @bitsoffreedom I agree on the protest with focus on the governments but even if every nation regulates this tech there won't be a coherent rulebook. We need to pressure every level of this industry accordingly to their role in this technology and employees working for Zuckerberg are a part of it. One of the minor parts but still. So I'm fine with this action. It's ok if you have your own view on that.

They haven't been constantly harassed. They were made a little fun of, once, one morning, on their way to work. The guy had the decency to hide their face.
He hasn't been mean, it was light hearted humor.
I understand that we should understand that this is only a job, that this might be the only job available and so on. On the other hand, their job is making everybody else's life a little worse.

There's quite a few jobs in the Netherlands right now. Even in tech. But there are indeed very little jobs that make that kind of money, and that is what they're really interested in. They could still live a very good life making a lot less money and having some moral values, if they actually cared. -

He recorded vulnerable employees and I think its pathetic.
@grayrattus @sibrosan @Roelmaalderink @bitsoffreedom I don't think these were the cleaning staff. Quite a difference between actual compensated developers and low wage Amazon workers which you're defending in a follow-up post.
If you want to instigate change, you need to poke at all different levels. Indeed not _just_ these minions, but _also_. When more people feel the hypocrisy in their work, they can bring about a shift for the better, if only ever so slightly.

Its like going to the clothes spinners in Bangladesh for the things H&M or Primark are doing.

Managers are regular employees too. Don't think anyone can tell from their coats what their function in the company is.At least you agree that these glasses are useful for harassers.

Its like going to the clothes spinners in Bangladesh for the things H&M or Primark are doing.
@dantalion The spinners in Bangladesh are much more removed than this. This is more like "Stop harassing the bottom line ICE agents who are just putting in a day's work enacting the administration's fascist ideals."

I think it would be better if you hunt for manager of whole META branch or something. Regular employees work for money just as we all do.

@Roelmaalderink @bitsoffreedom Schot in de roos! Ik had dit filmpje nog niet bekeken. Maar toen ik er over las op Teletekst (dat het van Instagram werd gehaald) ben ik het even gaan terugkijken. Betere reclame krijg je niet. Zelf kom ik nooit op FB en Instagram, ik moet zoiets dus via Teletekst lezen.
Nadeel is dat dit teveel reacties op Mastodon oplevert. Die ga ik (tegen m'n principes in) echt niet allemaal lezen. Nog even en ik moet A.I. inzetten voor een slap en sterk ingekort gemiddelde.

Es geht hier nicht um den Kapitalismus, nicht um Arbeiter die schikaniert werden, weil sie für den "bösen Kapitalismus" arbeiten, sondern um die Herstellung von Grundrechtsverletzenden Waren (Waffen, gegen Freiheits- und Menschenrechte) die sich die Gesellschaftskritik auch bei den herstellenden Mitarbeitern durch solche "Anspielungen" gefallen lassen müssen. Ja, belästigend für Mitarbeiter diese Blosstellung des Produktes durch sie zu ertragen, schlimmere Konzequenz für die Gesellschaft!@Realkind Tut mir Leid, ich verstehe nicht was du sagen möchtest weil der Satz zu verschachtelt ist.
Das Video ist halt einfach nicht dieser Gotcha-Moment den es verkaufen möchte. Und selbst wenn, gäbe es andere Möglichkeiten den Punkt zu machen, als von irgendeiner random Mitarbeiterin den Arsch zu filmen und auf Fedi zu posten.

@xinit @Roelmaalderink @bitsoffreedom I think comparing meta workers to forces who threaten and bully people, exert phyisical violence, take people from their homes and deport them is a bit of hyperbole but sure.
Reality sits somewhere in between, that being said, try to find a job in tech that doesn't somehow contribute to technofascism. Its hard.
And no, there isn't enough space for everyone in tech to just start teaching or something like that.
