Thanks for the support! Funny thing I wanted to plug here: I've never received comments like that here on the Fediverse , but I get dozens of them, weekly, on the Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram)...

I'm really grateful for how this community checks artists' work and actually verifies it's real human art before throwing random accusations.

This is my favorite place to share for a reason.

@davidrevoy Just this weekend I was at a show and thought some hand-painted bird pictures were AI, like maybe she used AI references. The beaks were just wrong.

Still don't know if I was right or if I just mistook her style, and I hate that.

@davidrevoy I mean I would HOPE people would need a real smoking gun to say that YOUR art is AI. I mean a lot of MFT is Anti-AI, so that would be random if it was made with AI.

Either way it's usually better to question, but not accuse when it comes to AI I think. Unless it is very much egregiously AI than it's better not to just throw accusations.

At least in this comic the vibe I get is just wanting to be a critic and not actually appreciating art though.

@davidrevoy On one hand, we know AI in general has a bias for yellow because yellowish images have a higher tendency of getting marked as "good looking" because of the "golden hour" in photography.

On the other, true, while AI hurts artists, due to that, even more for those who like yellow tones!

The issue with other platform is that people expect ai stuff, they want to see ai stuff and it must look like ai. When they say "it's ai, right" it's not because they don't value your work but because they want to know that they can make a prompt and do the same.

I could be completely wrong, but why stay on such places if they don't want ai crap ?

Aucune idée de si je me la poserais si je le découvrais aujourd'hui Ceci dit, j'essaye toujours de faire bien gaffe avant de dire que quelque chose me semble fait par IA, et je mets les formes possibles quand j'ai un doute.

@davidrevoy I hate that I myself sometimes see genuine art and have doubts that it's AI. I guess it makes me pay more attention to the artist behind the art I see which is good.

Now that "looking like good art" is something that AI can do, paying attention to what it's conveying and who's making it is more important than ever.

I'll take community over mindless consumption everytime
