NEW | Israel to ban dozens of aid agencies from Gaza
Israel has announced it will ban dozens of international humanitarian organisations from operating in Gaza within 36 hours, a move that threatens to further choke life-saving assistance as the enclave reels from storms, mass displacement, and systemic deprivation.
The decision targets some of the world’s most prominent aid groups, including Doctors Without Borders, ActionAid, and the International Rescue Committee.
The move comes as Gaza endures a worsening humanitarian disaster, with winter storms destroying thousands of tents, flooding displacement camps, and exposing civilians to freezing temperatures.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of 10 countries warned of a “catastrophic” deterioration, noting that 1.3 million people urgently need shelter, most health facilities are barely functioning, and hundreds of thousands face toxic flooding due to the collapse of sanitation systems.
