@JohnJBurnsIII the launch in the video above is quite calculated. I bet there are 100 wipeouts behind how effortlessly she did that. And for 90% of people it would be 100,000 wipeouts, if they could ever master it at all

We see a lot of these at a local big lake around here but electrified, quite impressive and very fast as the water resistance is minimal with these hydrofoils... mostly in wetsuites.
But apparently you don't need to get wet
Wearing a Bavarian dirndl in October in South Germany is indeed quite appropriate

@JohnJBurnsIII I wonder what starting out in the middle of the lake would be like. Could someone even do it? They'd need a paddle maybe. Or something with a very big hydrofoil. Imagine the effort to get it under your feet in the water then churn churn churn and lift yourself out of the water!

The dress is a german Dirndl. A traditional Bavarian outfit. Often worn at Oktoberfest in Munich. Or even while pumpfoiling, if it happens to be Oktoberfest season.I thought the dress added a lot of extras, I love that she's wearing a dress! Completely unexpected and fun 🩵

I suspect the foil has to be different based on weight of rider.
Could you even get the board under you? Inherent buoyancy of the board you stand on...
The makers must have video of how-to...
