“PIRATING” IS A CAPITALIST FRAME
don’t be a cop.
If buying isn't ownership then p̶i̶r̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ SHARING isn't stealing
If buying doesn't create ownership, then p̶i̶r̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ SHARING doesn't destroy it.
SHARING is anticapitalist and antifa because sharing is caring.
@blogdiva They're stealing our consumer rights so now we're _stealing_ their products!
-
@felipe We process lots of things

@blogdiva it's not piracy unless it comes from the "Piracy" region of France. Anything else is just sparkling sharing.

@kauer @etsyy @blogdiva I mean I am saying that I think that a good number of people that pirate (I like the word /shrug) are picky about where their meager funds go.
Like, if we are honest about this, there is no difference between downloading a song and listening to that song on youtube with an adblocker. Except that downloading it gives less power to google.
I really don't think that anyone should feel particularly bad about pirating a taylor swift album is my point more or less.

Ah, since I'm old enough to remember: you wouldn't download a car, would you?
Piratebay, FTW!

@blogdiva
Yeah, but sailing the high seas sharing booty just doesn't sound as hardcore
@intransitivelie @blogdiva It is if you're in an open relationship

@theeclecticdyslexic@mstdn.social @kauer@aus.social @blogdiva@mastodon.social I wouldn’t say it necessarily gives less power to google but rather returns more to you, but I’m being pedantic

@blogdiva Watching the wrangling in the thread, and wondering how many of its participants are using LLMs at home, on the web, or at work.
Cuz if you're using commercial LLMs, you're *already* a pirate, and it's a little late for moral outrage.
-
@blogdiva i wholeheartedly agree with you, but also I've always wanted to be a pirate and SHARING is probably my best chance to get anywhere close to that.

@blogdiva “be gay, do pro-social activities regardless of the framing of the existing hierarchies” doesn’t roll off the tongue as well
@c0dec0dec0de @blogdiva I kinda want that on a t-shirt anyway
