    One of the lesser-known features of Mastodon is you can merge several accounts into a single account if you want to. To do this, you just use Mastodon's account transfer procedure for all of your accounts that you want to merge into your target account.

        I'm not sure, I think @pfefferle would have to comment?

        By the way, just to be clear, this is a method for closing accounts and moving their followers to another account. Is that what you're asking about doing?

          @Neongamerex

          I'm sorry, I don't provide support for Bluesky 🫤

          I'm not sure if this is what you're asking though? The merging means the other accounts close down and you just use one account. It is not a method for connecting accounts and using both.

            p.s. Just to make clear, this is not a method for connecting accounts.

            Merging accounts means you move your other accounts' followers etc to one account, and stop using the other accounts.

                @FediTips @pfefferle Not quite - I thought the merging could be done so that my posts that I write for club website would show up as my posts. But then again maybe it’s better this way.

                  @mojala @FediTips this feature is meant to abandon profiles in favor of a single one. if you want your WordPress blog to be a fully federated platform in the fediverse with decentralized commenting/sharing/liking, the ActivityPub plugin is the way to go. if you simply want to publish your posts, using your existing mastodon account, a cross-poster might be a better solution.

                    @Neongamerex @FediTips The new account will be a bot run by brid.gy that represents your Bluesky account on here. It's what people on Mastodon have to follow to see your Bluesky posts without being on Bluesky, not an account you can post from etc.

                      @timtfj @FediTips wouldn't that make it abit annoying for someone's who post the same thing on different accounts.

                        @Neongamerex I'm confused—you've still just got two accounts really: the Bluesky one and the Mastodon one. The bot is just your Bluesky account made visible on Mastodon—it's this end of the bridge.

                        If someone follows both, and you post the same thing on both, then yes they'll see both copies.

                        I'm no expert, just someone with a Mastodon account bridged to Bluesky. My suggestion is to have a good look at the brid.gy documentation. They'll have sent you a link to it on Bluesky, I think.
