@_elena And I'm gonna guess, that's not yet the strongest argument they could have made. If I'm not mistaken, France considers the right to be informed to be a fundamental freedom, which means that cutting people from social networks could infringe on that freedom as long as some government information is only published there.

Would be great if courts in more countries would be able to stop the EU commission push for digital control

@mndflayr @_elena The world would be a whole lot less messy if we applied more sanity to politics.

Indeed. More sanity would be nice.

But I would already be happy if we would apply less insanity to politics. πŸ™

Here's the thing: we have destroyed the planet, there's almost no place for kids to go anymore because cars make getting there a very high risk trip and then the "parks" are too small for every kid in the area to be there. There's no more forests for them to explore either. Also it's too hot outside now.

They're online because they're fucking bored and can't go outside. Fic the climate, then the kids will go outside again.

@_elena Increasingly, it seems that the only way to protect children is who are online is to financially punish companies for the damage they are doing to children online. That incentive would improve things a lot, even if it would not be perfect.
