I think it's important because he doesn't get angry. He doesn't burn bridges
And he doesn't back down from a clear moral stance. He's generous and even-handed

@benroyce While the citation seems coherent to me and fair, German Wikipedia has some more on #Macklemore
They cite several experts that claim he uses antisemitic images and serves stereotypes. For example a picture of a child from the Warsaw ghetto next to one of a child in Dschenin.
The commissioner for antisemitism of the German government considers his lyrics and the images used clearly antisemitic.
So I'm not sure, at best this is grey, but not black and white.

If a person makes a statement as firmly and as clearly as Macklemore has made, this other controversy obviously does not apply anymore, or perhaps never applied and it was a misunderstanding
The wikipedia article says that the neutrality of the section on antisemitism is disputed. Having read the section I agree the accusations are without solid foundation and with little consideration for honest mistakes. It's my opinion that wikipedia section should be cleaned up

we have to be careful on this topic because antisemitism is a very real disgusting thing
and yet at the same time, some dishonest agendas weaponize the word "antisemitism" against anyone who criticizes the state of Israel alone, without any genuine antisemitism remotely indicated in their criticisms
that kind of behavior seems to be most of what that wikipedia section is
and this sleazy maneuver undermines the fight against real antisemitism in the world
