@grrlscientist I think it's worse than that. I don't think it's just that the gammons (#brexshitters, MAGAs, TERFs, ect ect) don't care about other people, I think it's that they actively vote to fuck up other people's lives.

This is maybe also one of the problems with "working class consciousness": It is certainly _not_ monolithic.
Being exploited in/by a class system, doesn't compel rebellion in people against selfsame system; many oppressed are either pro system and vie for a better status within the system or they are against the system, but don't believe it can ever change so end up assimilating into the system anyways. -

My wife made an excellent observation yesterday:
"The poor Trump voters are just as selfish and unwilling to positively contribute to a better world as the billionaires they are supporting. The only difference is they don't have tons of money. But if someone gave them riches, they'd make all the same choices."
I think she's 100% right. We have to admit that a subset of our country wants everything for themselves and they don't care what happens to everyone else. That's our core problem.
