I’m not that optimistic it would improve the general tenor online directly, but a lot more insults and flame wars would die out almost immediately due to mutual illegibility.
On the broader subject, I got a refurb’d reMarkable tablet from Woot earlier this year, and I use it just for handwriting notes for work. And it’s been way more useful than I ever expected. Expensive luxury, yes absolutely. Also kind of an ADHD crutch (don’t have multiple loose legal pads floating around, just the one expensive device with half a dozen digital notebooks).

True,they have been robbing the writing skills from young learners.
Here in Uganda,you cannot find a child at six years when she/he knows how to use a computer and this has not been affecting us -

#Education #Reading@paulschoe having taken two kids through this ”digital native” era, which basically just amounted to giving them iPads and laptops and believing that would magically transform into relevant tech skills, I’m happy for future parents who don’t have to do pen and paper writing exercises at home with their kids after school. The Swedish school system has, for a long time, been a mess and needed a bit less blue-eyed , ”back to basics” strategy.

I don't know and only slightly care. Different countries use different strategies to ensure that children in their country reach their potential. There is no one-size-fits-all.
Historical developments and experience determine a lot what method of distribution is used in a country for distributing school materials.
