I have the absolute joy of having the task to «give away money» to projects promoting open software, open infrastructure, interoperability etc - from the NUUG Foundation.

Or maybe you want to attend a conference within this area? Travel grants are also possible.
NB; project funds require an organization number.
Check out application through Unifor (website in Norwegian);
Deadline 2026-08-15.

@Piraya Quick question; Why did NUUGf reduce the number of application deadlines to just four per year?

@Piraya Quick question; Why did NUUGf reduce the number of application deadlines to just four per year?
@sjn Many reasons. One of them is better control. The board increased to 5 ppl, and applications turning up at random intervals just wasn’t viable for everyone to meet so applicants could get fairly evaluated.
Also, there is a general experience that with a deadline, more people get the acts together and apply, so that not all applications come in November/december each year.
Also! We need to know that there is money to spend for all applications times.
But mostly admin reasons. -

@Piraya okay, and how long is such an evaluation process expected to take?

@Piraya okay, and how long is such an evaluation process expected to take?
@sjn a week or two after deadline. Sometimes there are follow up questions, that makes it usually longer time.
We might refuse the application if there are too many open questions, and ask for a new application (the next deadline)It is new. We have not all figured out yet.
But we did this to try to make everything more smoothly and predictable for all parties involved.
