There is a official Mastodon mobile App?
If you search for "Mastodon" in the Apple and Google app stores the one labelled just "Mastodon" with a :Mastodon: logo is the official one developed by the same organisation as the Mastodon server software.
However, I'd strongly recommend people try the third party apps as well, as they tend to have more features: https://fedi.tips/which-apps-can-i-use-should-i-use-the-official-app-or-a-third-party-app/
The main reason the official app exists is because people were assuming there had to be an official app and searching for it in app stores.

You probably don't need the official app, it's mainly there to help new people discover Mastodon

magnifying glass "Trending" section compiled? I've heard that it's an algorithm.
Also wondering how often it's updated.
Do Trending posts change depending on what instance your account is on?

Do Trending posts change depending on what instance your account is on?
It's basically the most boosted recent posts, and only one post per account is visible (to prevent popular accounts flooding the trends). Admins can optionally pre-emptively moderate trends to prevent nasty stuff trending on their instance.
The exact formula is in the source code but it's fairly simple and open. If I recall correctly it's updated fairly often, but there can be a delay due to moderation.
Each instance has its own independent set of trends.
