    What Open Source software are you using in Community/Union Organizing, Advocacy, Civil Society Organizing or NGO work?

    What works for you, and what software are you missing?

            @konstellationen I remember now, having looked into Joplin before. It doesn't really interlink notes that well. That's perhaps the main feature of Obsidian (what I mean with "Obsidian-like"). @jonben

              @malte That seems to be a Cool feature. There is some linking functionality in Joplin but maybe not as powerfull. @konstellationen

                @jonben There are other cool features like "dataview", but interlinking notes are absolutely central. I wouldn't want to use a note taker without strong focus on that anymore. @konstellationen

                  Self hosting could be an alternative

                    @pungspark It is a bit above my skill level, but assuming I could do it, could this be encrypted too? Those notes could theoretically be accessed by a hostile actor unless the password actually encrypta the files @jonben @konstellationen

                      @malte
                      If self hosted you can set up as much security as you want with encrypted traffic:

                      "Optional: If you plan to access this instance from outside your local network, we strongly recommend putting it behind a reverse proxy like Caddy or NGINX with HTTPS and authentication. You can even pair it with a secure tunneling solution"

                      I will try to lab around with it in the comming weeks on my proxmox server at home as I'm lookinh for similar solutions
