Are you following an account that does good posts, but you don't want to see their boosts of other people's posts?

You can mute just an account's boosts without muting its own posts by doing the following:
1. Go to the profile of the account whose boosts you want to hide
2. Click on the ⋯ button on their profile
3. Select "Hide boosts"(New people: "Boosts" are the name for shared posts on here. They mean the same as re-tweets or re-blogs.)

@FediTips this looks really useful! (Probably more for the people following me than directly for me, but...)

@seufz @FediTips @zimtwolke Anybody knows if the opposite is a feature thats coming?
I'm wishing for more settings in "Lists" for instance. It's very annoying that Boosts doesn't "follow the selected user" to the List.
Maybe there is some Fork or App that does this?

@FediTips This doesn't seem possible with Tusky?

@FediTips Any idea whether the opposite is possible? At least once I wanted to see someone's boosts, but not necessarily their posts.

Thank you.
I've been wondering how to remove some of the things people boost without unfollowing them. This is great

@distinctdipole @syhr @FediTips Tusky does have this one, it's in the vertical three dots icon on a profile page. Should just say "hide boosts" or "show boosts" depending which you've currently got set

@thegiddystitcher Thanks for the tip. I'll take another look

@distinctdipole @thegiddystitcher @FediTips Ah, you have to be actually following them!

@syhr@social.coop @FediTips@social.growyourown.services if there is on option than you can do it on the web version.

@FediTips There are accounts where I would like to get notifications of their boosts in addition to their own posts. Am I missing a setting or is this a feature that Mastodon doesn't have (yet)?

By the way, how do I unlink my mastdodon account from bluesky?
I don't remember how I linked it, although I do remember that I linked it (and no interaction resulted from this).

@FediTips boosts? I think you mean re-toots.

Block the account @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy
(you may need to copy-paste this address into the search box in Mastodon)

As far as I know you can only be notified for their own posts (by clicking the bell icon). There's no boost notification.

@syhr @distinctdipole @thegiddystitcher
Yup, you have to be following as otherwise you aren't seeing their posts or boosts anyway

@FediTips I think that's a shame, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to make a note in the right place.
