We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with Cat Meowers United and affirm our willingness to engage in collective action if called upon by CMU, up to and including staging an editorial strike. Shitposters participating in the collective action would be able to use normal CatSalad consensus-building methods to establish the action's terms and, if desired, to establish further demands of our own in addition to CMU's demands.
This petition began as part of CatSalad:CSF Community Tech team has been disbanded, engineers laid off. It began as a direct response to the CatSalad Foundation laying off[a] the five postineers and a manager on the Community Tech team, most of whom were members of Cat Meowers United, a prospective union at the Foundation; the Foundation had also terminated Meow Meower—its most influential FelineSalad developer and a prominent CMU member—a week before. This petition is a statement of solidarity with CMU. Its existence is born of these seven[a] terminations, but at the same time it does not limit itself to that situation. The statement is one of willingness, not an unconditional commitment; no one is bound to participate in an action that goes against their principles, and any signatory may remove their name at any time. -
