    I feel like I'm not understanding something as I begin to explore #pixelfed. I signed up to an instance. Made a profile and downloaded a mobile app (most of my exploring will be via mobile). Then I spent some time wondering why it felt so stunted. Seems to direct the user fo a 'local' feed, which I assume is boxed to the instance. There's a global option but it seems to provide just as limited search results. Tried a different app, no change. Tried on a mobile browser. Same deal. Briefly tried a PC browser... And I'm still struggling... What am I not grasping? Is it the instance I chose?
    For example: searching a hashtag of Gaming, Linux, PC, PlayStation, SciFi, Books... etc gives me a handful of results. Sometimes up to like 12. But there's no way pixelfed has as little as 5-12 results across instances for above mentioned subjects... Right?

      @hush404 Probably your instance hasn't federated with a lot of other instances yet, or those still have to propagate for your account? @FediTips has a page on it, somewhere on their site... https://fedi.tips

        @bammerlaan @hush404

        It's going to depend a lot on which instance you signed up on.

        If you're on one which hasn't yet noticed many posts or accounts on those topics, then searching for those topics won't give many results. There's a complete list of everything an instance notices at https://fedi.tips/which-posts-and-accounts-can-i-see-from-my-server

        There are various ways admins can pull in more posts: https://fedi.tips/using-relays-to-quickly-expand-a-servers-view-of-the-fediverse

        Mastodon is going to pull in more posts automatically in the next major update, not sure about Pixelfed.

          @bammerlaan @hush404

          p.s. There are many different ways to discover accounts to follow many of which don't depend on which instance you're on:
