    I wish Mastodon would have a way to search for keywords only for "people I follow". Sometimes I know someone mentioned something, and I want to go back to that post, but I don't remember who or when, and it's hard to find. Is there such a thing?

    Edit: I only use Android devices.

    @badnetmask @FediTips
    I often search for things like:

    "panthers in:library"

    e.g. to find this banger:
    https://kolektiva.social/@Gigi/115900462017124196

    Which will search for that word in things I have starred or favorited.

    That's been good enough for me and encourages me to favorite almost everything I read.

    (As @rasterweb likes to say: the star is how you mark a post as "read." 🙂

      @badnetmask @FediTips Ivory for iOS has a feature for searching in your timeline. This might help. But not sure how far back in time you can search

        Yeah, that doesn't always work. In this particular case I'm positive I'm trying to find something I did not interact with.

          @badnetmask @FediTips I don't see an operator that supports search by user other than specific user.

          I think someone would need to make a custom client or tool to export your data & your mutual's data and then index it.

          I can't even find a way to filter my feed to mutuals.

            I understand and sympathize.

            Can we write a bot/app for that?

            And if we can, somebody already did it, right? And that means we should be able to find it already just by searching, right? 🙂

                  Apparently some app can do that (according to @stefan )

                      It might not be that hard to add such a feature. Since it is open source it could be done as a fork just for yourself if Pachli isn't interested in a PR.

                          @chris @badnetmask

                          You can use "operators" to narrow your search. There's a complete list of operators in the guide at https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-search-for-stuff-on-mastodon/

                          I don't know if any of these are exactly what you're asking for but they will work on any device as you put the operator into the search box.
