Did you know Mastodon has a post scheduling system? You can write a post now and set it to publish in the future:

Weirdly, the scheduler is built into the Mastodon server software but the developers never got round to making an official interface for it. That's why it isn't in the web interface or official apps.

However, Mastodon is an open platform and third party apps are able to provide the interface so that this feature can be used 🥳

It's difficult to test due to the long timescales, but there is no upper limit as far as I can tell. You can set any future date.

Bear in mind though that schedled posts won't be transferred if you transfer your account to another server. You might not be on the same server in e.g. 10 years time.

Yup, unless you reactivate the old account after you've moved. But your followers would all be on the new account so they wouldn't see it when it's published anyway.

Generally scheduling is used for reaching other time zones rather than into the far future though.
