I just learned of a benefit to aging and I'm 100% overusing it. When you're around young people, they do things for you! You ask. They get up and do it. Would you be a dear and get me _______ . They'll do it! I'm only 58 and I can get those dummies to do anything.
@fesshole Same age but that doesn’t work for me. Instead I just wind up doing things for even older people.

In most cases it's been presented as a question & the intent is honest. I also live in Alaska where we will offer advice from our own expertise.
I was a carpenter in the bush, I'm also pretty well broken up & it's obvious. If I'm in Lowes & someone looks confused I will offer from my experience.
The only people who appear offended are those new to Alaska & probably who could really use what we offer. Alaska requires skill in many & varied situations.
