I reject the notion that we are "unprepared" to deal with this. We know exactly what to do: Regulate the fuck out of it.
It's even mentioned in the article that pervert glasses could be categorized as surveillance, which is regulated (if not enough).
The problem is that the same people making money on it also have the power to both stop regulation & muddy the public conversation with obfuscation & nonsense.

@jwcph I find that when people try to play the "law-making can't keep up with technology!" That is usually someone trying their hardest to muddy the waters, as we quite often do have rules and laws dealing with how the tech giants abuse their power.
