Some examples:

- cryptpad.fr - best alternative to google docs suite. EU financed ~0.5 mln. @CryptPad

- GNU Taler - alternative payments system to Visa/Mastercard. EU financed ~4.5 mln. @Taler

- elfaconsortium.eu "local first" app suite. EU financed ~3 mln. (new, in progress) @elfa

- /e/OS - android mobile operating system and many other android mobile projects. EU financed ~4.5 mln. @mobifree

etc. and many more not financed projects, such as from Linux mobile ecosystem @ubports or linux phone hardware ideas such as @Liberux

@hpod16 I was recently watching a video by Patrick Boyle about Ukraine's drone attack on the Yandex datacenters in Russia. He posed the question, if Europe wants to have more control over its own data, how are we preventing getting in a similar situation as Russia in case of an attack? Having redundancy by having an extra copy of your data hosted on a completely different continent does make it a far harder target to take down.
