    @sous_mon_masque @lordkhan @randahl @FrancoisPrague

the way i understand that incident is he used a random disguise, in his words, and he apologized for the confusion of appearing to be antisemitic

now you could take him at his word

or insist he was an antisemite and a liar

either way, his statement on antisemitism two days ago shows a clear understanding of what antisemitism is, and that it is wrong

    @benroyce @lordkhan @randahl @FrancoisPrague

So he is able to have a clear understanding of what antisemitism is, but this "random disguise" passed his screening ?

"I have a clear understanding of nazism but it appear this random drawing I made is a what ? A svastika ? Sorry I thought it was a budhist symbol."

Addition : for the nazi salute, did he sent hearts, made a "random gesture" or "the camera took the wrong image and he was doing something totally different ?

      Own goal of the century:

British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran's Loop tour boots American rapper Macklemore, after Macklemore condemns Israel's genocide in Gaza.

      Result:

American singer Fineas quits the Loop tour.

      Dublin singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe quits.

Danish pop singer Lucas Graham quits.

Ed Sheeran's own backing band Beoga quits.

The tour was supposed to continue until December, but all that is left is Ed Sheeran and the support for Israel's genocide.

(But he did condemn genocide, more recently. But now I suspect I know what its motivation is 😬.)

he said he used a witch nose and a beard and a wig to sneak in unnoticed

did he immediately launch into an antisemitic tirade?

          no

so it is plausible he was a moron about it

it's also plausible he was an antisemite and a liar and you are right

Anyway, knowing that, it seems bad to cancel Fineas, Rowe, Grafam and Ed Sheeran forever in a snap judgment, no ?

            They discussed with him privately.
            They know more.
            And made that decision.

Not to mention, antisemitic (all Jews are not complicit in genocide and saying so, as Israel does and as Pink, and other Zionists do, is antisemitic.)

                @aral @randahl @benroyce
This point needs to be stressed again and again. Netanyahu is deliberately conflating hate for his Government with antisemitism, to the serious detriment of Jews everywhere. It’s a cynical move to make Jews outside Israel feel less safe and thus more likely to support Zionism. What an evil man Netanyahu is!

finneas, graham and rowe all quit, so no for them: they're in macklemore's camp

as for canceling sheeran, the issue there is him caving to plutocrat douchebags, whatever you think about israel or palestine, and for that reason i *criticize* him, i don't cancel him

of course, plenty of others will cancel ed

                      thank you

israel has a right to exist

palestine has a right to exist

the *only* way forward is a two state solution

but neither seems capable of working that out

israelis and palestinians were murdering each other long before i was born, and probably long after i'm dead

                      unless...

                      what?

i feel the two state solution has to be imposed on them by the world

but that is a *huge* ask

                      so we are stuck

@Uair it’s heckin complicated. A lot of non-Jewish people don’t understand that Israel is separate from Judaism. I’ve had to explain to very good pals that I didn’t have any connection to or sympathy for Israel, that my Judaism was entirely disconnected from Israel. That branding campaign has been extremely successful and problematic because they aren’t one & the same. @benroyce @lordkhan @randahl @FrancoisPrague

Sorry to hear that. I'm atheist, but read a ton of Jews. Not one of 'em supports this shit. They're fairly quiet about it as public figures. They don't want to get attacked by the ADL. I think something like 70% or Israel has been out to protest Bennie in the past couple years.

But you don't have to worry about me. You, and I, need to worry about the dumb thug on the street who likes hurting people way more than he likes thinking about things. And I can see Bennie making that worse, by a lot.

the problem with those words is you are supporting one of the 2 maximalist positions: the area completely palestinian (the other: the area completely israeli)

both maximalist positions lead to a river of blood

understand that and join us at the 2 state table

or admit what you are really supporting

the only way forward is for the world to agree on a two state solution, then move in militarily and impose it on either side, then sit there for 50 years, at least

something like intervention in the balkans in the 1990s, then a DMZ like on the korean penninsula

i feel it is the only thing that will work

but that is gargantuan ask of the world to do. and there is little will to do it

the problem with those words is you are supporting one of the 2 maximalist positions: the area completely palestinian (the other: the area completely israeli)

both maximalist positions lead to a river of blood

so no, i reject your words

the only way forward, unless you love death and suffering, is a 2 state solution

understand that and join us at the 2 state table

or admit what you are really supporting

Israel will never stop the river of blood for as long as Israel exists.

Why should they? The river of blood is how they got that land in the first place.

They have no right to it.

It was forced through by antisemites in germany and the UK - remember: Hitler's Plan A was relocation.

If there is a compromise to be found, it has to be one where nobody has any right to murder over land.

A south-african solution, with a commission to address all crimes, punish all criminals, restore all ownership, bring back all displaced peoples.

A situation where "Israelis" have to behave to be allowed to remain.

Just as with Kosovo & Serbia. I hope these 4 countries will choose peace and learn to live in harmony. I hope the new generations will also demand this from the government.

yes, #antisemitism is on the rise in the world

so we talk about it and we oppose it

we *also* talk about and we oppose #Israel's genocidal actions

                                      we do both

and those are completely unrelated, uncrossed topics

except in the words of complete idiots and manipulative liars
