Yes, agree.
Like many elderly academics, his response to Epstein - which derided women's claims about abuse - says he's sexist. That's a great pity & it detracts from his record of moral & ethical behaviour.
It also says that, like many male academics, he may be too self-obsessed to see when he's being had by a clever narcissistic psychopath. He's not alone.
That said, I suspect he's not among the abusers. Of course we can't be sure. These guys have so many tickets on themselves.

I don't know that Noam had a great deal of money. ?I suspect he's just one of many unreconstructed, sexist, old, white, male academics. None fitting that description "knows better" because they've never had to.
But, I hope, not a child abuser.

Depends on what a person might consider "a great deal" but he certainly had a lot of the stuff waved in his face, too.

With respect, all of these men have had an enormous aura of displeasure when someone has disagreed with them. Not of intellectual curiosity, but just contempt.But also, I'd be incredibly careful discussing this in terms of Epstein being a "clever psychopath". He was just a single tool in bringing these people together.

Among the pale, stale, male popn, arrogance is very common, but being a child abuser likely isn't.
