yes, the clarity principle
if few vote, and fascism wins, and some voices go "let's fight": no one cares
people who don't vote are expressing their apathy. there's no struggle there. it's acceptance
while if they vote, and the vote is ignored, this is a fountain of anger. this is the ignition point of the serious struggle
we have to vote. people who argue against voting or disregard voting are only helping fascism
"Frater Petra Astrum" replies to tell us that fascism is insurmountable and we can't beat it
sounds like, a, uh "real" leftist and not a spineless cowardly turd ready to accept fascism

-
unfortunately my abilities are faililng me
i'm already blocked by so many of these pathetic useless fake leftist edgelord losers i can't get enough replies to mock anymore
such suffering

@benroyce keep baiting em
-
@benroyce On Election Day, I'll go to my polling place and cast my ballot. That's the best I can manage.
@DeanFarrell @benroyce You may want to talk about what you will vote and why.
-
@benroyce@mastodon.social
They're your words, Ben;
Why are you angry, and;
Why are you lashing out?
You said Dems are shit.
So if you don't mean it?
Then don't say it.
You silly silly goose. 🪿
Honk. Honk. Honk.
@axolotlyes, the dems are shit
so we vote in the primaries to get real leftists
mamdani. el-sayed. AOC. etc
i don't quite understand the rest of your comment except that you seem to be projecting some odd ball of emotional ineptitude
we vote, we get change. we iterate. we sustain
that's it. that's my message
do you think i'm crying or something?
are you ok amber? you don't seem very coherent. do you have difficulty communicating with people?
-
i would only respond that the various 14 year old edgelords (some are chronologically adults, but that's where they seem to be stuck in their psychological and emotional development) are not real leftists
they are just losers who think if they act smugly superior they are doing something in the world. of course they aren't doing anything but helping MAGA
-
@DeanFarrell @benroyce You may want to talk about what you will vote and why.
dean's voting
that's good enough
look around this thread if you want to see some real shit
although i advise against it if you're watching your blood pressure

@benroyce
Assuming that most folks here are politically savvy, let's provide them with some tips and tools and inspiration on how to counteract the disinformation onslaught that we know is coming, which is aimed at the less informed electorate.Such as -
- talking to friends and family
- writing progressive messages and articles
- promoting/boosting progressive messages and articles
- promoting Democratic candidates
- making donations
- joining a local group
- volunteering
...@AkaSci Let's not forget staying anonymous and communicating over secure channels.

-
they aren't real leftists
a leftist has an ideological position and works coherently towards goals. not just voting, but anyone remotely serious understands voting is a good tactic
an empty loser vibes online smugly to make themselves feel good. they have no coherent plans. they have no genuine ideology. they have ego masturbation and 14 year old edgelord contrarianism. immature, unserious people, who plant their useless asses in leftist spaces and make the place stink
@benroyce Almost immediately after reading your reply I saw this video short from one of my favorite political vloggers on YouTube and I loved her response to the people replying to her videos calling for "revolution" https://youtube.com/shorts/FON8dJG8QBk?si=ArNYreHCWadreC0t

@benroyce @axolotl Tell that shit to my father's generation. He was in WWII on the Pacific Front, and came back to bring me and my siblings into this world while some of the Nazi and Japanese war criminals were hanged.
I know I am much older than the current crop of younger activists but I still say if they can defeat fascism, so can we.

@benroyce @DeanFarrell My graduation professor had this statement on his office wall, saying 'everything can be better' - I have tried to live by that ever since.
-
@benroyce you almost convinced me, then i remembered Obama's deportation and bombing numbers. Community organizing and direct action is the way forward and electoral politics is literally the system that got us where we are today.
Nothing against others voting though. Maybe you will get some harm reduction. Or maybe you'll be complicit in crimes against humanity. Probably a bit of both.
Remember the vast majority of rights and freedoms we have today, worldwide, weren't voted for but fought for.

We're entering #election season in the #USA. The #midterms
That means something for you:
You will see an increase in #trolls
Messages along the lines of
"Nothing ever changes, both sides the same, waah" #cynicism
And
"The candidate is unideal. Allow me to amplify and manufacture high holy outrage on the point" #perfectionism
All of which is designed to suppress the #left #vote and help #MAGA
You have been warned. Brace yourself

revolution is a cosplay by losers
1. too many people are apathetic. we'll get russia 2.0 not civil war 2.0
2. they're dead in the first 15 minutes
3. they are allergic to imperfection but revolutions are not magical beams of ideological purity. revolutionary leaders are just as, if not more, compromised than the candidates they despise
4. the suffering is 1 billion X our suffering now
5. after, it's the same whiny "not perfect, i'm not voting" by these turds all over again
-
@benroyce yeah, just back business as usuall if it's your party doing the bombing and deporting...
@axolotl @benroyce In which case we keep fighting. One of two things now happens:
Either we get to pick our next opponents (ask any boxer the value of this!), or we get a hell of a lot of motivated people joining the fight.
Only if a stolen election is allowed to slide by the general public are we put in an untenable situation. Yes, that too may happen, you need to know exactly what you want to do in that case and be ready for it just like the other scenarios.

@benroyce I've been noticing an uptick of "So you really think you can vote yourself out of this?" posts on Mastodon. It wasn't from a bot account but the cynicism is really starting to ramp up from the "burn it all to the ground" quarter.
My response to that is something along the lines of, "Uh, no? I don't? Now go vote, asshole." -
BUT I WANT PERFECT NOT BETTER!

@benroyce @PeterBlok @DeanFarrell it's funny that "anyone who isn't actively driving us off a cliff" was so much more accurate than we even could have imagined
