@folfdk

… I got close … but the body breaks down slightly over the many hours…
Very close!!
Extreme event! Can't imagine the top three with all those extra km in the bag! Looks like some of them didn't waste time sleeping!

@folfdk SPOT on
. I had 2 x sleep
events

. Thank you for following along

Shoes were PERFECT

🤩Glad to hear that the shoes worked with you instead of against you. That's one of my biggest worries when I'm running longer (Well... Shorter) distances (like half marathon).
I hope you'll recover well and be able to sleep later
(I guess that NOT gonna be a problem
) -
@WTL thank you

- I had the best type 2 fun 🤩@moelholm I approve then!

-
@nerdd it was indeed very silly
. But there were 800 in total ish over all the different races yesterday. 85 I believe started the Danish championship… so it is nice to be among fellow silly folks. In fact I think I spottet a lot of friend pairs that just decided to take on these hour challenge (3,6,12,24)
🤩
@moelholm Yeah, it’s always great being among your own kin
And I bet it is a lot of fun regardless of how many hours it is

@nerdd it is a very social format I can only recommend. And you decide the breaks - so it is only as tough as you make it yourself 🥳

I got sleep - and I appreciated it. But in all honesty it can be difficult to have good sleep after ultras. The body is in some weird mode where it doesn’t let you fully relax
. But I’ve tried it before - it goes over quickly … a few days and it’s back to normal

@folfdk haha thanks
. Yeah what we see here are levels of much more hardcore ultra runners. The top folks seem to be able to cope better with the muscular breakdown. I think that sort of resilience takes multiple years of good training. The ones above me on that list are amazing endurance athletes. The 2 first ones Emil and Katja are a total league of their own. I was so impressed at their comfort pace .. and not only that …but at the comfort pace that they could keep throughout 🤯 -

That's a true iron lady! As far as I could tell she's battling with Stine Rex on the long distances. Impressive!
And yes, definitely takes a long time to build that kind of base endurance.
Pretty badass that you're mixing in with the best ultra runners in Denmark
