This is very uneducated and short-sided from your sight.

Less weapons means less lawful citizens being able to protect themselves against criminals. (who as you might guess are cowards attacking those who they deem less likely to be able to stand their ground)

Look at the Wild West, for example.
(Not the movies, but the reality of Wild West.)

Crims will rethink whether to rob armed one.
