@camilla_hoel At the museum there's a detailed video of how the factory went about producing the original secret agent pencils. It wasn't easy, particularly because of the secrecy involved in manufacturing the components!

I'm wondering if a museum purely devoted to pencils might be one of the most Mastodon places in England?
Maybe it's one of Mastodon's Spiritual Homes!I lived in Keswick for 4 years and somehow missed out on the Pencil Museum. I have been down a local lead mine though.

@ianturton @camilla_hoel Apparently, early on, soon after the discovery of graphite up there, graphite was more valuable than gold.
