Can I ask a favour?

Sorry I can't host it myself, but it gets really complicated hosting other languages because I update the guides quite often and the other versions would need to be updated at the same time
It's much easier to help people set up their own independent guides in their language. It also means they can alter stuff if they want to take it in another direction.
Do you have a recommended platform system for tips?
Wiki?
WordPress?
Joomla?
BB board?I *might* be able to host a translation mirror as a sub-domain of an existing site. Although, if you have the option, you might have sub-domains for the languages as sub-domains of your site.
They could be managed independently.francais.fedi.tips
espanol.fedi.tipsEdit.
I've just probed your site and can see that you are using Wordpress. Only issue might be that you will need an MySQL database per subdomain site.

Can I ask a favour?
If you see someone who is asking for help using this place, and if no one else is helping them, could you tag me into the conversation and/or link to my website https://fedi.tips?
I'm trying to provide unofficial tech support for people using Mastodon and the wider Fediverse. I'm especially keen to help new people who want easy-to-understand advice, but they won't see me and I won't see them unless someone tags me.
Thanks
@FediTips thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out how to build lists like I can in bluesky

@FediTips Oh, there we go, relevant to one of my recent posts, why do I see posts as barely having any Favourites and even the ones that do have them, when I go to see who Favourited it, it shows no one?

The numbers and favourites below a post are lower priority on here, and they don't necessarily get updated as often or as widely as the numbers on the original version of a post. You can check what the most accurate numbers and favourites are on a post by going to its "original page", more info at https://fedi.tips/what-are-original-pages-in-mastodon

There are Lists on Mastodon, but they are meant as personal "mini timelines". You add accounts you're already following and those accounts' posts and boosts appear on the List. You can then optionally hide them from your main timeline, which is a good way of reducing how busy your main timeline is.

If you are creating a site, it's up to you how you do it!
The database is only there because I have a search option on the fedi.tips website. If you don't want search, it can be a static site as the contents is almost all text with a few still images.
Thanks for the offer of hosting a subdomain but I'd rather not have a translation on my site, due to the problems of coordinating frequent updates. I'd prefer to help people create their own independent sites based on the text.

@FediTips I see it now, went to this: https://wetdry.world/@micr0/115375745664561354 post and although it shows 1 Favourite for me, I went to the server it's hosted on and suddenly…1.500 Favourites…Now the Fediverse seems way bigger than it did to me.

Yup! Basically, it's easier not to pay attention to numbers on here, they aren't considered important
There was concern from the developers and early users on here about how people were trying to "farm" numbers on Twitter, Instagram etc. By downplaying the numbers, it avoids encouraging lots of fake engagement. That's why you can't even see the numbers if you're just browsing your main timeline, to prevent them mattering so much.

Thanks for that! I gave up on Facebook & pretty much all social media years ago, then heard about Mastodon. So far, so good! -
