@timaeus it might be pretty unrealistic to keep poison entirely out of your food if you source it from any other garden that’s not yours. A range of other gardens struggle with that.

@winterknell @pixelfed that’s a good one ! A slightly modified metaphor with respect to software development would be that poisoned compost you use in an organic garden for growing crops cannot be avoided if you get it from your neighbor using pesticides.

@timaeus Sure. But what it is not, is an argument for deliberately including slop or poisoned compost in your own projects. Purity is an ideal, and maybe impossible to achieve because we exist in an impure world, but giving up and embracing the slop is not the answer. Five thousand years of religious haggling documents that.
